Some of you may already be aware of ACMAPS’ Peer Mentor Program and maybe even accessed its services, but for those of you that are not familiar, well, this blog’s for you.
A Little about our Mentors and Workshops:
ACMAPS’ peer mentors are usually third or fourth year students who have good overall academic standing. They are trained to assist students, like you, with both academic and personal issues, and to help guide you to valuable resources that can help you with your journey here at York. Most importantly, they have a drive and desire to help support the personal and professional goals of their peers (again, that’s you) and they are committed to helping you succeed here at York.
ACMAPS, in collaboration with central resources such as the Writing Centre, Learning Centre, Library, Career Centre, and personal counselling services, also offer various academic, interpersonal and computer skills workshops, to help provide you with the skills needed for academic success. Our peer mentors will be able to help you access these various workshops.
Now that you’ve read a little about our wonderful and dedicated mentors and the Peer Mentor Program’s workshops, you might be asking yourself, “How do I access this Peer Mentor Program?” Well, lucky for you, I have the answer, and it’s as easy as clicking here:
Or you can contact us via phone, email, Facebook or Twitter. We will be happy to connect you to a peer mentor who, in turn, will be happy to work with you.
