For me, the first few weeks of February always brings back-to-back midterms, essays, and group projects. The stress that comes with coordinating and completing all my academic commitments can be a little overwhelming. Lucky for all of us at York, there are great workshops available on campus to help students develop the skills they need to be successful. For example, if you’re like me and procrastination is one of your biggest obstacles, there is a workshop for that. If one of your goals is to improve your critical thinking skills, there is a workshop for that. If your writing skills need a boost, there is a workshop for that. If writing exams make you nervous, there is a workshop for that.
The important thing to remember is that services are available on campus to help you succeed academically. If this fails to bring you hope, keep in mind that Reading Week is only 9 days away. For a full week you will have the opportunity to cure any sleep deprivation, and to do what many mature students do over the break, get caught up and get ahead on readings and assignments.
