Motivation and the Mid-Semester Hump

Is it just me or does it seem as though this semester is going by very quickly? Although we have just returned from Reading Week, in five weeks’ time, classes will be over and the exam period will begin. For me, this point in the semester is always slightly stressful. It seems as though there is constantly a midterm to study for, or an assignment to complete. As my university life becomes more and more hectic, I find it useful to remind myself of my specific bigger picture. Reflecting on my long-term goals can be the motivator I need to push through all work I have to do now, in order to have a more successful semester. When I keep in mind the program I want to pursue after undergrad or the career I want to have, I find that I put in a little bit more effort into my school work.

What are some of the ways you motivate yourself during the mid-semester hump?
