How to Navigate the Student Portal

The Student Portal is accessible to students after successful log in with Passport York. The Student Portal provides an overview of available Award, Student Government Aid, and Graduate Funding Profile information.  For detailed information about your OSAP or out-of-province funding, FAAS is not your primary source; please log into your respective online government aid portal.

The Profile Management section is where you access the link to the Student Profile.  Detailed information on how to complete the Student Profile is available online.

funding opportunities

  • Undergraduate Funding Opportunities (and/or Graduate Funding Opportunities, if applicable) - This section displays application-based award opportunities that are available to the community at large.  If you see an opportunity you would like to be considered for, click the Apply button and the system will run an eligibility check to assess whether you can continue to apply. If you don't meet the criteria for the award, you will see an Eligibility Failed result. Click the back button or Student Portal (Home) at top of the page to go back to the previous screen to view other opportunities. Monitor this section regularly as new opportunities will become available throughout the study period.

  • Summer/Winter OSAP Extension - For students who want to extend their full-time OSAP application for an additional term within the same academic year. To be eligible students must have already received full-time OSAP funding for the current Fall and/or Winter terms.

Payments – This section provides information on funds to be disbursed and period and received payments.

Payments

This section provides information on funds to be disbursed, and funds already awarded. For more information on payments (both upcoming and already paid), click on the applicable button.  If a payment has been applied through our manual upload process, the name of the award/application name will be blank; for payments made through an award cycle, the name of the award will be reflected under the Application Name field.  In all instances you will be able to see the payment date and relevant academic year.

Once an award has been paid, the name of the award and the amount will be visible in the transactions view of your York Student Account. Funds from scholarships, awards and bursaries are applied directly to your tuition and other student fees you owe.

If you have a credit remaining on your account after tuition and other charges have been cleared, you may request a refund. If you subsequently withdraw from the academic term or session when an award was disbursed or no longer meet the criteria, York University reserves the right to reverse the award (partially or in full).
